Crow's Poems #1: Dragons of my Heart

What this world I see,

flashing by,

Swiftly changing.

Sometimes I dance with the flash,

Swimming through with an evanescence,

But other times, I shatter.

It all cracks, and I fall,

Down and hard.

I balance on a string while I want and wait,

As my body cringes and sobs

Time flies by me then.

and the earth gets mad at me for my absence and slow wavering.

I splinter a bit more, thinking of what I dream;

To dance with the dragons of my heart.

It burns to be away from them,

It kills every day.

That is the string I always balance on, 

Rocking back and forth,

In between the some-what sanity of longing.

But eventually, the shattered pieces fade,

Then reform.

And I start to dance with life again.

I am happy, I suppose,

But somewhat melancholy too.

For even a dance with life,

The thing we all cling to so dearly,

Cannot measure the love and freedom

Of flying

And dancing with the dragons of my heart.
