Lost in the city

Night stood on a roof of an abandoned apartment building in New York City. The Night sky was brimmed with storm clouds and form time to time lightning would flash. The lower floors of the apartment currently had a few druggy squatters. Though this did not bother Night for when she had found this place the upper floors were boarded off from the lower floors making it the perfect place for her to hide while she stayed in New York. She had come here originally following possible rumors of other people like her, but so far she had found no trace of any others. Night sat down and leaned against a wall somewhat bored. Her wings ached to be stretched but she would not take such a risk for she knew not who was watching. Night straightened out her skirt a bit after sitting and then she pictured a knife in her head. The blade was curved the hilt jeweled. She then focused and the knife manifested in midair floating before her eyes. It fell and she caught it with her right. She did this sort of minor projection often to keep her mind sharp. Often it was random things like the snow white teddy bear she had on the grimy mattress that she slept on downstairs. Or sometimes it was something small like a pebble. It often would depend on how bored she was. she tossed the knife up lightly and caught. She repeated this action many times while watching the thunderstorm roll in. Old memories rekindled as the storm rolled in.

The rain fell hard on the blood soaked ground. The sound of steel meeting flesh could be heard. Swords were projected in mid air and fired at Erasers, whose cries of death could be heard. Night stood ready with white blade in her right hand and a black one in her left. She ran and met eraser after eraser cutting them down with no mercy but tears brimmed her eyes as she did. The last two Erasers then ran trying to escape but Night threw her two swords at them killing both. The dejected looking girl looked up to the thundering sky as the rain fell her tears falling with the rain as she cried. She then heard people call out from behind her and she took off running and then jumped. Her wings unfurled white with black spots, and she flew off into the storm, and away from the School.

The rain began to fall and Night stood up and headed back inside. She deprojected the knife and watched as it vanished. She knew that if she had not killed those erasers she would not have been able to escape but, no matter how she rationalized it she still felt bad for it. She did not like killing and she did not want to. She was a freak of nature, she knew that, but she could honestly care less. Though she did still want to find a place were she would belong, and she was hoping that if she found others like her, then maybe just maybe, she would finally have a home. Night laid down upon a mattress and cuddled the teddy she had projected and fell asleep. With despair in her pats yet hope for the future.

News stations all across states broke out with the same "Breaking News story"
The station showed a building with military troops standing around it. The location was in Death Valley. "We are coming here to you live. Here in Death Valley were the military has just finished raiding this secret compound that according to our sources is some sort of Secret Lab. This lab has allegedly been making multiple recombanant life forms. The Government had apparently encountered a few of these life form and henceforth commenced a raid upon this facility. They met resistance from some kind of wolf men who's bodies have already been removed form the scene. According to eye witness's they say that multiple vehicles had fled a few hours prior to the raid."

Another news report.
"New evidence has been found suggesting that multiple human based hybrids have escaped from the lab and the government has declared a state of emergency and is putting the whole country in lockdown until further notice."

A few days later The President makes an official announcement.
"So a week ago we had a group of Human Avian hybrids or mutants, come to us saying they had been experimented on and raised in a lab. At first we did not believe them. That was until we saw they had wings. So afterwards we launched an investigation into the mater while placing this group of mutants in a secure place. We then after investigating found there claims true and a few days ago launched a military raid upon the compound. There we met resistance from other mutants made there but besides that found the place empty. This group is still on the loose and we have deemed them a national threat. We have also deemed the mutants that they made a threat to national security. We have found evidence to suggest that this group has had multiple security breaches leading to many Mutants running free among the general population. Also the group that we were holding that exposed these crimes escaped from us as well. So we are locking down travel to other countries. We shall put up checkpoints in every major city, and every airport. These check points shall include genetic scanners. We do request though to you Mutants who are out there and listening. Please turn yourselves in. Do so and we shall relocate you to a special camp that can hopefully meet your needs. However if you do not turn yourself in and you resist capture when found. Know that Lethal Force is authorized. That is all."
