Feffer's eyes snap open and a cold shot of panic rushes through her veins. The smell of antiseptic and alchohol smothers all of her senses, the overpowering stench bringing a wave of nausia. She feels as if she is a butterfly pinned to cardboard, only instead she strapped to a square metal table in a empty, white room. Feffer struggles, but there is no escape; even her wings are displayed at odd angles. Through a glass panel, several whitecoats with clipboards note Feffer's struggles and reactions, trying to justify whether she is the dna experiment that had escaped 5 years ago.

Crow lands in a clearing not far from the safe house and sighs. She flops down on a patch of soft grass and passes out into sleep.

In the middle of the forest, a gear appears and Barricade steps out, exhausted. He clears some wood near a river, sets a defib pad and a net in the water, and turns it on. All of the fish start spasming/swimming towards the AC current, and into the net. He lights a fire, and cooks some fish, the smoke rising into the night...

All of a sudden, he hears voices. A column of smoke rises not too far from him. He hides the fish, dampens the fire, and prepares to take off. Slowly, he spreads his four wings, making a giant, feathery, X in the campsite. The bottom set of wings had inverted joints, and as he took off, he spread his wings like a biplane, and prepared to open a portal. This one would sent the image of himself elsewhere, to make himself unseen. He readied and charged his whiptails, flying behind him, and tilted his primaries in a slow, clockwise roll, increasing in speed as he dived towards the source, a house, where the last words he heard were "Don't wander too far off, Crow."
